This is located in Durham Wynd, Lower Largo. It was originally built as a school in the 1890s. It was acquired by Largo St David’s in the 1950s, to be utilised as the church hall. Accommodation comprises large hall, small hall, meeting room, storage space, toilets and kitchen and car park. A major redevelopment and refurbishment is now envisioned to create a joint place of worship and community hub with modern facilities.

Situated in the grounds of the Homelands estate alongside the Homelands Trusts’ 4 accessible self catering lodges The Paxton Centre is a community hub open to both guests on Homelands and everyone in the local community.
The centre features a thrice weekly café, two therapy rooms used by a range of therapists and rooms for meetings and various classes; we currently offer, seated exercise classes, basic IT class, an art workshop and a card making and craft class. All our rooms are available for hire at very competitive rates to local commercial organisations and our medium and small room are free to use for meetings etc by local charities and voluntary organisations (rooms must be booked in advance). For more details please visit our room hire page.
At Homelands we are committed to accessibility, in the same way our self catering Lodges are specifically designed with accessibility in mind the Paxton Centre is also very accessible. We have a number of automatic extra wide doors throughout the building, there is a lift available for anyone who needs it to access the first floor and there is an accessible toilet on each floor. We also have a portable Geemarc hearing induction loop.

The Simpson Institute is the local community hall for Upper Largo and the surrounding area.
The Simpson Institute was donated to the community of Upper Largo by Mrs Janet Galloway Simpson, The building was designed by Charles Tweedie, Architect of Edinburgh.
Since its completion it has been the focal point of community life and a social meeting place. The Simpson Institute is open to any group or individual wishing to organise events or regular meetings be they public or private.
This church hall is located across from the church, providing good parking access, flexible meeting space, toilets and a kitchen for the provision of light refreshments.
