Wombles’ First Outting

Today, for the first time, LACC Wombles met up at Lundin Golf Club and spent two hours of their free time cleaning our beautiful seaside and coastal paths around the area of Massney Braes.

14 Wombles ranging from 7 years old to… older… and every generation in-between, managed to gather 14 full bags of litter and rubbish strewn about the sands, dunes and bushes.

Plenty of fun was had along the way and it gave such a feeling of accomplishment and personal wellness to all those involved and we hope others will benefit from the hard work.

There will be no Wombles on Easter Sunday – but this is only the start, we are on the look out for our next area to clean, so if you have a suggestion please use the contact form on this website to let us know! We would also love to see even more Wombles next time we’re out, so get involved and make a difference. If not you, who? If not now, when?

Thanks to Largo Area Community Council, Fife Council and Andy Bonnes’ shop for providing the equipment. Special shout out to Iain Green for our artwork and Amy Ritchie for her fantastic multitasking photography while Wombling! And of course a huge thanks to all the Womble volunteers who stepped up and made the difference.
