Largo Pier Restoration Consultation

The last time we consulted Largo Area residents about the work we’re doing to save our pier it was a lot easier to engage with everyone. Although we are living in difficult times with rules about social distancing and groups we still have to carry on, because the usual seasonal storms won’t stop happening and if we wish to save the pier it will be easier if further damage is limited and we have some remaining structure to work on, so we need to press on regardless.

We’ve now had professional civil engineering design work done and have some options, along with first costings, to discuss with the community. We have written a consultation brief and posted it, along with drawings, on the Largo Communities Together website.

We need your feedback on the proposals set out in the consultation brief. There are two ways you can do this:

a. You can use the online form on the website, and/or

b. You can participate in a Zoom teleconference. If you haven’t used Zoom this sounds complicated and technical but it’s really easy. After all, our MPs have been doing it!
If you want to do this just e mail us at

contact@largocommunitiestogether.org.uk

telling us which session suits you best and we’ll send you a link.
All you will need to do to join the video conference is to click on the link at the time when the Zoom conference starts.
There will be two sessions lasting an hour, so you can choose when suits you best.
The first is ‪at 7.30pm on Tuesday 12th May and the second is at 3.00pm on Thursday 14th May. ‬
‪The sessions will be hosted and moderated by our LCT Chair, Louise Robb. There will be a short presentation by our Pier Group Chair Jimmy Simpson and then a Q and A moderated by Louise who will only allow one person to speak at a time. After the Zoom session you may wish to respond using the online form.‬

We aim to complete this consultation by ‪Tuesday 19th May and ask for all contributions to be made by this date.‬

Please pass this invitation on to any interested friends. It’s quite difficult to reach out to everybody under current conditions. If you’re not sure about how to engage with this consultation process, please just e mail contact@largocommunitiestogether.org.uk

Kindest regards and my best wishes to you all,

Jimmy Simpson
Chair of Largo Pier Group
